SOWP Passport Submitted VFS Chandigarh How much processing time ??

Hi Everyone

My spouse got an email on 9th December 2015 stating a final decision has been made on his file and passport is required for the completion. He submitted it on the same day and opted to pick up the passport. It's been 7 working days but no response online tracking says being process at chandigarh visa office. There isn't any specific time for the process on website. It will be great if anyone can advise what to do.

When did you applied for SOWP ? Did you applied online or a paper application ?

I applied for SOWP paper application on 30th-Oct-2015 along with passport and all required documents. Application is under processing at Banglore office. I dont konw how much time it is going to take for completion of application processing.

I applied online 7th october they made a mistake while reviewing my file and refused it. I sent case specific inquiry and they reopened the file and asked for passport. Submitted the passport on 9th december via VFS chandigarh still in process so not sure how much more time it will take.

I am on post graduate work permit in Canada. I belongs to NOC B job. I have valid work permit till March 2017. I got married in Oct 2015 and my wife is India. She applied for SOWP on Nov9th, 2015. Her application sent to Bangalore processing center. Its paper based application and submitted along with medicals. So far no update. It is still showing in progress. For case specific enquiry also no response. I moved to Canada and I am with my wife for only one week after wedding. I am tensed now and killing myself for update.

Processing time at Bangalore is 2 months and it has been 2 months for you today. They are taking time because of study visas so don't worry you will get an update soon. Also on Monday you can send them a case specific enquiry again just make sure to mention that it's been more than the processing time. I hope you won't have to send an inquiry and you will get the passport by Monday. It took a month for them to return my husband's passport, it was online application. It usually takes a week but in my case it was a month, I can understand how annoying wait is.
