Hello All,

Anyone applied SOWP in July 2016 from Canada and Spouse is in India?

I applied for my spouse in July 2016 2nd week , it's now more than 7 weeks still waiting

Application Date : July 12 2016
Application Location : Toronto, Canada
Spouse location : India
Medical : Upfront ( Passed)
Result : Waiting
My job NOC classification : A

Please share yours time-line

I am not sure how can you apply for an open work permit when your wife is in India. As per CIC this was available only for SCLPC(in Canada class) applicants.

I am not sure how can you apply for an open work permit when your wife is in India. As per CIC this was available only for SCLPC(in Canada class) applicants.

If you are on WP visa and based on NOC classification only O,A,B you can apply for spouse' Open work permit.

If your spouse is in home country (in this case India) and your are in Canada, you can apply Online for either TRV or SOWP and that application goes to Canadian Embassy in India.

I got passport request yesterday and tomorrow I am going in person in VAC office,bangalore.ow long it will take to get the passport back?

Where and how you send passport?
Is it require to send return courier slip with parcel if we send VO directly?
