Hi,

My scenario - I am an international Student and have a study visa till April 2022. I got married on 01 Feb 2021 and my spouse is in India. While I'll be graduating by April 2021. I have few questions-
  • We were in a relationship of about 4 years before getting married. Should we apply for SOWP now or wait for some time ?
  • Should We apply while me being International student? What is the acceptance rate for this?
  • Should We apply after me getting PGWP and NOC 0, A or B job? What is the acceptance rate for this?
  • How much funds are required for both categories ?

- Since this is a very recent marriage it will raise concerns, I'd suggest wait
- Spouses of international students are not guaranteed an OWP , it's a 50-50 chance generally. In your case recent marriage, short stay are red flags
- PGWP with NOC 0AB job has a better chance
- Funds - no specific requirements for an OWP, but around CAD 10,000 for a year or an initial 20000 should be good
