SOWP extension

Hello, my SP will expire soon when I graduate from my study Q4 this year. I will apply for PGWP right away. My wife is holding SOWP which has an expiry date of 2026 Aug. Will her SOWP be deemed expire when my SP expire or we can wait till 2026 to decide how we are going to extend her stay?

Did you change programs since your SP and her SOWP should have similar expiry dates? The difference in expiry dates are significant so something would have had to happen. SOWP will be valid until expiry date.

We were surprised that her SOWP has such longer time as well. My SP expiry date is 2025 July and I am staying in the same program but the expected completion changed from 18 months (around the SP expiry date) to 12 months (this is an option from the school and I have consulted with my school, this should have no changes to my SP and subsequent PGWP application). So, I suppose I will only have to extend my wife's SOWP in 2026 when it's about to expire?

Is it a Masters program? If not, you may only get a one year PGWP because of accelerated studies.

@Naturgrl Hi there, I am studying in a master's program of 1-2 years, what if I graduate in 3 semesters(1 year) in an accelerated way, as per the new regulation(Feb 15) does it still make me eligible for 3 years PGWP? It wasn't explained in detail there.
