SOWP before or after arriving Canada?

Good day, what’s the best time to apply for SOWP? Do I wait till I arrive Canada and start schooling? My SP just got approved, I still have 3months before resumption, thinking we should try applying for the SOWP now, hopefully he gets it then we leave together. Does this jeopardize my chances in any ways? Kindly respond

Did you apply before coming to Canada ? What was the decision ? Please share what did you do. I am in the same boat. Thanks
