Hey SonikaRJ,

You shld follow up with ur MP every month for an update. If my MP can say if my application delays for 6 months. They can insist on CIC to honor the MP by doing my application on urgent basis. Then why not your MP is doing that. Your application has been delayed for long enough and MP must do something to get an outcome on an urgent basis.

Hi everyone,

I applied for my wife's SOWP (Paper Application) in Chandigarh on June 28th, 2016. No update yet, tried linking the file with myCIC but it doesn't show up in the search results yet.

Is there anyone else here who applied in June/July 2016 at Chandigarh?

Are you guys in for a petition?

We applied online on February 3rd, till now no update.
I don't know what effect petition will have, but as far as I can see that so many people are stuck with Chandigarh, so we need to bring this in concern of CIC authorities in Canada and Chandigarh as well. I think everyone waiting from Chandigarh for Spouse OWP who has passed the regular processing time (which is now 9 weeks) should do the following:

1.Case Specific Enquiry to Chandigarh office: https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/case-cas-eng.aspx?mission=Chandigarh

2. Email to Chandigarh CIC office: CHADG-G@international.gc.ca

3.Lastly, email to the Immigration minister regarding your case pending with Chandigarh CIC office (especially, if you are waiting since early this year): Minister@cic.gc.ca

Use email subject something like: "Spouse Open Work Permit delayed at Chandigarh CIC/IRCC Office since __ months"

I am positive that if they receive enquiries, and emails all mentioning "delayed in Chandigarh CIC Office" they will pay attention to it.

If a lot of people are interested in sending the emails, I can write a draft for it explaining how it is affecting your marital life, and stressful it is.
So, people out there, let me know. Thanks.

[FYI, i applied for SOWp from chandigarh in end of June, 2016, so I am waiting for official processing time to pass, i.e. 9 weeks, and if nothing is done, then I am going to do all the things mentioned above. Those who are waiting since early 2016, please don't just wait. Take action! All the best ]

AJ Singh

There was a link posted on this forum by someone which was about Problems going on in Bangalore & Chandigarh Consulate by John Mccallum,, Chandigarh being the worst hit,,(will post the link if i come across with it),, So, it is already in their notice but the main concern is that what & when will they finally start doing something about it,,

Our precious time is getting wasted,,

I have done it all as u have suggested AJ Singh,, Bt still blank,, They clearly state that is no fixed timeframe to finalise the application,,
Yes u r more than welcome to write a draft,, Vl c then wot can be done about it,,
