SOWP application when spouse in transferring credits

Hi, plz advice one of my friend if there are any challenges if he applies now for SOWP when his wife is studying at Canada west in current semester and transferred credit to TRU from fall 2020.

She has obtained a doc from TRU that says she's in enrolled in TRU since 19 Sep 20 (future date) and that she has paid the tution fees already. She will also share evidence that she is tranderrunf credit to TRU. In addition, she will get her transcript by the time he applies as a proof that she has continued her study.

Yes she can apply. It is unclear whether online studies and covid will be a factor in SOWP approval. With current travel restrictions the spouse could not come to Canada. SOWP is not guaranteed for international students but they should apply. If they were recently married and especially if it was an arranged marriage approval tends to be difficult.

1. My friend is concerne that when he will apply, his wife will be in move from Canada west to TRU and TRU docs has future date mentioned is that going to make the application weeker? Should he wait till his wife starts the class in Sept?

2. He was advised that he must show an enrollment certificate of his spouse from TRU but TRU did not issue any certificate with this title however TRU issued a letter saying she has paid tution fees and her class will starts from Sept as I mentioned first. I think this should work.

An SOWP is never guaranteed but given covid and online studying chances of approval are likely lower. Someone with an SOWP may not be able to board a plane to Canada. Most have been not since they are not returning to a job. It is fine to apply now. Think the chances are better when studies have returned to in person classes. Processing is likely to take a long time.
