Just a quick question. I'm currently preparing my application to sponsor my spouse from back home. I'm starting a new job next month so I'll be including a letter from my employer as it is required. However, the checklist also mentions to include your most recent notice of assessment. I haven't really worked for the past couple of years as I've been focusing on my studies.

Should I still include my notice of assessment from this year even though I wasn't working?

include your NOA for the most recent taxation year.....and a letter from your new job.

If you are working in Canada, provide an original letter from your current employer stating your period of employment, salary, and regular hours per week AND one of these documents issued by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA):
• Your most recent Notice of Assessment. This must include line 150 (Total Income), or
