Hi guys,

My situation is...we received my copr in the mail a few weeks ago...it was mailed to my candian address...however i've been in germany for the past couple of months for my internship so my partner sent me the copr by registered mail...
He sent it may 12 and according to the tracking sheet its been stuck at frankfurt airport for 14 days...
I'm freaking out that it wont get here in time...my flight is booked for july 8, my latest possible landing date is July 18...
We did make copies before sending it off but I obviously need the original for my landing...

I'm going to try and get a hold of frankfurt airport and ask what's going on but I don't know if they'll be able to give me information on my letter...

Does immigration canada send another one if I told them what happened?

I'm really freaking out...it'd be an absolute nightmare...

You're doing everything right by sending it registered but then what can you do when its stuck somewhere for 2 weeks? Which doesn't make any sense...either its being delivered or its being returned to sender...but sitting somewhere is just awful...

Please I need some help here...

Thanks guys!

Contact the airport where it is being held, and the courier company in Canada that sent it. What is the courier company's policy if something is not delivered? After all, you are paying extra to ensure delivery.

Have your sponsor contact his MP to see if he or she can help or offer some suggestions about getting CIC to issue a new COPR. Some MPs are very helpful; some aren't; but it is worth a try.

At the risk of giving a convoluted bit of help: if you can get it resent to your Canadian address, you could then return to Canada as a visitor and pick up the COPR and land at the nearest border station--not entirely sure if that's the smartest idea, so maybe a more senior member can speak on this. Or, failing that, you could even fly from Frankfurt to Buffalo/Seattle or the closest US city, meet your parter (who would bring your COPR) and land at the border.

< Call the courier to deliver the dox ASAP....or send someone you know in Frankfurt to visit Frankfurt airport to locate the mail....
