Hi guys,

I got very very serious situation here. I totally freaked out!! I was supposed to take my oath at the citizenship ceremony. Actually, I already handed in my PR card and sat down waiting for the judge coming out. However, an officer took me out, and then cancelled my oath. She said they were informed in that morning by immigration department that I got some problem with my case. But, they didn't know what had happened exactly. They just let me wait for notification.

I legally immigrated to Canada by independent skilled immigration, legally lived in Canada for three years in four years, and legally applied for citizenship. I can guarantee that all of the information I provided is one hundred percent real. I did nothing wrong. Therefore, I totally have no idea what is happening there.

I really really need a help. Does Anyone know what had happened on me? And, how long will it take to wait for their answer? Should I write a letter to ask the reason?

Thanks for your advice in advance.

People who don't know me well very will think I did something illegal in Canada. I felt insulted. Can I make a plea for me?

There is nothing you can do but wait and see what happens. Who knows what they think they found. Maybe they confused you with someone else or maybe somebody who doesn't like you contacted them and told some lies about you. If you did nothing wrong, then you have nothing to worry about.

Looks like this story explains more:::

The citizenship fraud tipline is only a few days old – and it is already snagging possible cheats, QMI has learned.

Earlier this week a person in the greater Toronto area heard an acquaintance bragging he had hardly spent any time in Canada over the last three years, yet he was set to be awarded citizenship the following morning.

Citizenship requires applicants to have spent three of the last four years living, working and contributing in this country.

The informant called the new tip line at 8 a.m. Tuesday. Officials descended upon the man's citizenship ceremony at 9:27 a.m., yanking the alleged fraudster out of line just as he was about to be bestowed with the privilege.

hi

please let us know did you take RQ before or no and where was your test and where was your file
I was worried about taking RQ because one of my friends took RQ after his test. Actually, I’m ready for RQ. But, it never happened. I took the test at STC.

In my case, I won't call him informant if he exists. I will call him calumniator. And, I hope he will be punished when I get clean. The weird thing is how on earth did you know the situation of this guy so clear?

I read Torontosun, and had seen the story just 2 days ago. When I read ur sos, I was trying to give u heads up on similar situation that has happened to other people and what could have been the reason, so U are prepared.

In a situation serious like this u might need a lawyer, but there is nothing for U to worry about because as long as u have 1095 days in the last 4 yrs, U will get it even though RQ will delay it.

Start getting proof of ur presence in canada.

I read this news. It is so weird. This event was almost simultaneous with mine. I could be that guy. But, I definitely spent 1095 more days in the last 4 years in Canada. And, I can not imagine someone who I know can bring a false charge against me. Moreover, I think the government department at least should give me a reason why they did this to me.

I am sure the government WILL give you reasons. They usually take a lot of time to write a short letter. Just wait for the explanation, and try to relax in the meantime.

the only person can stab your back is the person close to you. i learned this from very young age that if you got good things happen to you, just keep it yourself and enjoy it quietly.
