I applied to sponsor my son back on Sept 2nd 2014 by sending the document by mail. I live in Saudi Arabia and since then did not hear anything from Mississauga center. I tried to call several times without luck.
Any suggestions?

Thanks

if you have not received word of approval as a sponsor (first stage in the process), then you will want to call the cic call center and inquire about your application. currently, they are processing november/december applications, so you are well beyond the posted processing time. there's a good chance they sent you the approval letter and it got lost in the mail (many people have been receiving it by regular mail lately).

i'm not sure where you are calling and what you mean by not having much luck. did you actually talk to a person and specifically ask about your application? you need to call the cic call center, not mississauga. The call center will be able to verify if your application is received, whether it's processed, or if it's not in the system.

if that doesn't result in anything, then the next step will be to call the canadian sponsor's member of parliament for them to inquire on your behalf. CIC must respond to MP requests.

Whats the number to call guys?

Thanks

1. Since you can't sponsor a dependent child while residing outside Canada, you probably can expect to get a refusal eventually.

:o So , I have to be in Canada to sponsor my son? I did not see that in the documentations and instruction manual? Can you reference me where did you see it?

I would think its true for Resident nota a citizen?
Yes. From guide 3900:
If you are a Canadian citizen, you may sponsor a spouse, a common-law partner or conjugal partner, or a dependent child who has no children of his or her own. However, you must demonstrate that you will live in Canada when the sponsored person becomes a permanent resident.

Note: Permanent residents residing abroad may not sponsor from outside of Canada. Canadian citizens travelling as tourists are not considered to be residing abroad.

Thank you for your help.
I got an email from Mississauga Center that they need

I thought it's 150

75 for application fee and 75 for applicant under 19 (dependent)
