How are you entering? By land, air, sea? How you enter will determine exactly how much you can bring. Travel light.I don't have a lot to move as far as items. Just basic like clothes, some misc. items, and stuff from the wedding shower. How much should I not move with me?
I was just notified about another thread I commented in that might be of interest to you. It deals with permanent residency and U.S. citizens crossing into Canada. Link appears at the end of this post. Before you go there though, let me reiterate that you should only respond to whatever they ask, which will likely be something about what are you going to do in Canada, where are you staying, who do you know in Canada, what do you do for a living, and how long are you staying. As long as you intimate you're entering as a visitor (that would be your legal status!), you're fine. Don't volunteer information or open a door they weren't looking to open. Be succinct -- but not evasive -- with your answers. Since you're a U.S. citizen, that will suffice.
If you're entering with your husband, they'll likely ask how you know each other and/or how long you've known each other. This doesn't necessarily mean they're asking if you two are a couple, married, whatever. They're merely looking for a simple link; nothing very detailed. Again, just be succinct. Don't overthink this. Spend all your immigration mental energy on the form filling and document gathering.
