I and my wife are PR. I am in Canada, recently landed a job.. Wife is in India and with my Child of 8 months.
I am applying for TRV for my Child (9 months old) and have following confusions:
1. Which all forms needs to be submitted ?
2. Can I apply, sign the forms from here and send to India or I can not apply for my child's TRV ? IF I can not, then do I need to send a Invitation letter to my Child...
3. Is this TRV application to be send to India only or I can submit it in Canada ?
4. I know I have to write following in my application : a. The reason why I want TRV...b. I will apply for child's PR in Canada....C. I will not extend their stay beyond TRV.... d.If I am not eligible to apply for TRV for my child then please consider this application as TRP
What else should I mention in the application ?
5. Is the application should be online or printed forms... if online...then is there any option available online to write the application... ?
6. This is not a family class visa ?
Thanks guys...
1. The TRV forms are the same for everyone, for adult or child.
2. You can fill out the TRV application on your child’s behalf. You can sign the forms as you are the legal guardian. Or you can have your wife sign it. Doesn’t matter. You have to send to the Canadian Embassy in India if you have all the required documents and photos. Otherwise send it to your wife and then have your wife send it to the Canadian Embassy with photos and documents needed. Letter of invitation may likely to be required. Applying for TRV may be difficult as applicant have to demonstrate stronger ties to India than to Canada but not sure regarding TRV for dependents.
3. TRV processing can only be done outside Canada, never within Canada. You have to send it to Embassy in India.
4. You cannot write the reason from your perspective. Remember to fill the application from the child’s point of view. Don’t say “I will apply for child’s PR in Canada” The child is not applying for PR him/herself.
5. It is best that the application be completed online so that it can be completed and verified with bar codes. Makes it easier on CIC to gather / pull information electronically than to retype it into the system.
6. There is no family class visa. There are only 3 types of temporary visas. Visitor, Work or study visa.
