Hi Explorer101,
Did you get your banking job by (1) uploading your resume in the Resume Management System of the bank or (2) through an agency, if so, would you mind sharing the name or (3) through an internal source.
Your guidance will be helpful to many of us in our approach towards securing a job on our arrival in Canada.
Cheers....
Vermas
I applied directly on the website of banks. Through agency one can get part time or full time contract jobs in Bank, no permanent jobs. This is stop gap arrangement made by banks till hiring a permanent employee. The contract worker is not an bank employee and have no right to most of benifits of bank. He has no right to apply for permanent position in same bank for 6 months.
Canada's 5 top are
1. RBC http://www.rbc.com/careers/
2. TD BANK http://www.td.com/hr/opportunities.jsp
3. Scotia Bank http://www.scotiabank.com/cda/content/0,1608,CID13220_LIDen,00.html
4. CIBC http://www.cibc.com/ca/inside-cibc/careers.html
5. BMO http://www.bmo.com/careers/
Interview & Resume tips from BMO :http://www.bmo.com/careers/pdf/09-405%20HR%20Interview%20Tips%20Final%20ENG.pdf
BMO works through Hewit- Montreal. CIBC Manages its own work from Toronto ( finch) and so is RBC from Toronto (kings street)
I suggest concentrate on one type of job, do not flood resume for every type of job.
This agency have contract jobs for banks, they have a studio where they record the interview with candidates and sent it to Hiring Managers. If any hiring manager find it good then he calls the applicant for interview http://www.manpower.com/countryselector.cfm?eventID=33416
