Good Day Fellows

I am new this forum I have applied for canadian Immigration in NOV 2005 from london I am from india I got resfused I have recived a letter they said that my master degree is from U.K is not accpectable
Here is the points detials I have claimed 25 points for my master degree.

Age 10 :
EDUCATION 20
FIRST OFFICIAL LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY 12
EXPERIENCE 21
ADAPTABILITY 03
TOTAL 66

Below is the resfual details from embassy
I am not satisfied that your Master degree from the lnternational University of America in London nor your spouse's degree from West Coost University meet these requirements. As a result, points for educoiion were awarded on the bosis of your Bochelor's degree only, ond no points for yourspouse's degree were oworded under the odoptobility factor.

Now I want to apply under the new rules my question is that my work experience is a network computer engineer of 2 years and 2 years of adminstrative officer .
so can I reapply again in new category with my computer network engineer experience.

Well if you can me I only award only 12 points in language and I am only short of 1 point my total points is 66
so if I increase my language point I will be able to eligable or not to reapply it I have gone through the new rules I am confused with new law I have read this forum and this is I am not able to get it .from rupeshhari

Ministerial Instruction or 38 job list

The 38 job list can be found here:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who-instructions.asp

To see if you qualify under the ministerial instruction list. Go to http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who-instructions.asp and find the profession most closest to yours.

Then go to the relevant job in the NOC website and decide whether the first paragraph describes your job and whether you do most of the duties found under the NOC code. If yes, you probably qualify under that NOC. If not, then look for another profession in the ministerial list.

well my question is that rupeshhari write that if your relavnat job is on noc then we can apply but my question is that what about the Ministerial Instruction or 38 job list becuz computer network engineer is in noc code but not Ministerial Instruction or 38 job list so can I reapply with noc code 2147 of computer engineer or not.

as far as I can see from all of this - the main point is that the university must be recognized in the country it is located in. Am I correct? Is this the only point?

you have to be in the ministerial list or have a job offer from canada or have spent 12 months in canada to apply under FSW.
Since you don't seem to have any of these, then you cannot apply.

Suin - it could be that international university of america is not even recognized in america. They may be just using the name 'america'. I know the american international university in beirut (or some similar name) is a valid university but it is easy to steal names and set up universities in another country that is not recognized in either america or that country.

thank you for your reply, rupeshhari. it means that I can relax with my master's degree that is taken in the local international university that obtained accreditation both in my country & abroad?
I thought that not all master's degree are accepted by the Visa Office. How do they evaluate my diplomas?
Please do advise.

i have no idea but i think its mostly based on whether the local authorities accept the degree or not, i dont think its based on whether canada accepts the degree. Let me say it differently, i think (not that i know) CIC will accept a degree that is accepted by the local authority. However, its a bit tricky when its an international university that functions in another country. I am not sure what is the case here, but i am sure you can relax if its recognized in both countries.

So for example, Columbia university (which is ivy league) is not formally recognized in many countries but if i did a video class from there while living in say Zimbabwe, i am sure CIC will still accept it. CIC would be crazy not to accept a degree from Columbia.
