When applying under family class as spouses could the lack of a job on my soon to be spouses end who is the Canadian citizen have any effect on the sponsorship, could it cause it to fail?
Also could the fact they still live with their parents effect it?
and could the lack of education cause it to fail?

Another question, after i become a permanent resident and go into Canada, how long before I can come back to the states to visit my family here?

If i apply outland while the applications are being processed am I allowed to go up to Canada?
Are they allowed to come down to the states?
Would they be allowed to stay with me in the states while the application is being processed?

Another thing, could applying so soon after getting married look suspicious to them?
I mean how long do they expect a married couple to stay away from each other =/

It would look more suspicious to me if you waited to apply after getting married than if you did it right away. If you apply outland, you may visit Canada. Your spouse may also visit you in the US.

Lack of education, being unemployed and living with parents should not affect the sponsorship because there is no specific income requirement to sponsor a spouse but if your spouse makes absolutely no money at all and especially if you are also not working, immigration may ask how the two of you are planning to support yourselves in Canada.

I am not sure if you are asking this because your spouse is in the US and will have to give up their job to move back to Cda?

I am the Cdn spouse and I provided the letter of employment from my job just as the checklist requested. Your spouse should fill out the application using the current information about their job. I also included a letter from my parents stating that I would live with them when I got to Canada and that they were willing to help support us until we got back on our feet.

No

Immediately - you can turn around at the border and go back to the US if you want. Just make sure you are in Canada for the required time.

You are from a visa exempt country (the US) so you are allowed to go up to Canada - it is up to the individual VO who assesses you at teh time of entry to determine if you are going to follow the rules and leave - so it is always a possibility you will be denied entry- it is also always a possibility that you will be allowed in with no problems, or given a visitors visa... Anything is possible.

They have to meet US requirements for entering the country.

They can visit you in the US (as long as they can enter) - are they there now or living in Canada?

I lived in the US with my husband (12 years) and stayed with him until almost the end of the application, at which point I returned to Canada with our 10 year old.

Applying right after marriage is not suspicious. Just have all of your proof of relationship.

They are currently living in Canada with their parents and are currently looking for a job.

But I am living in the states and have a job of my own.

Thank you for all the help though.

Not unless you met very soon before you got married. If you meet and get married and apply for permanent residence in a short time then yes it probably will look suspicious. A marraige certificate in itself is not evidence of a genuine relationship. As long as you can prove the start and development of a serious relationship you should have no problem.

Nope, I have known them for 4 years, was and still is my bestfriend. We've been together for almost 4 months. Plan on getting married at the end of January...I hope that doesn't seem too soon. but knowing each other for this long, we already know that we want to spend our lives together.
