Some Questions Regarding MEng

Hi, Now that I have got my visa I have a few questions to ask which I should have asked earlier. How different will be MEng in Canada when compared to Engineering in India? The university where I will be pursuing MEng offers jus the one year course, so could someone who has an idea about this let me know as to what are that things I can expect once the course commences? With a gap of almost two years after my BE, i'm jus a little nervous whether I this is gonna be too difficult or this could just be a case of butterflies in my belly.

PS: It would be good if someone can give me some pointers on being successful during my MEng course at the university.

About what I came to know, the MEng concentration is quite a new program meant for specially working and experienced professionals. So some of the universities don't have it yet but within the upcoming years even they will have this program.

MEng is the conclusion of education. That means you won't be able to pursue PhD with an MEng degree as it's not research based. For keeping PhD option open you will most probably need to transfer to the MSc program. Again it all depends on the university. Some university might consider admission to PhD with MEng provided you meet the requirements.

For expectation from the program, I suggest you look at your program requirements and course curriculum. You will have to be aware of how the program is to be completed and make a plan from now. Studies are anyway's challenging. It's upon you how you will tackle it.

Cool. Along the course of your program you shall understand what to do next. But as I heard, it's not very common about switching from MEng to MSc. Maybe due to the less study pressure in MEng
