I am working on a draft supervisa application for my parents. I have the following queries, it will be great if someone can review and confirm.
1. I have used my own email id to create an account on the visitor visa portal. I have used the same email id on the representative page. Is it a good idea or should I create the portal account with an email used by my father? I am using the new portal
https://portal-portail.apps.cic.gc.ca/signin?lang=en
2. Since I have not yet submitted the application, I can switchover to the old portal? What is recommended, old or new portal for the application?
3. In general is it recommended to go with a family member as representative? I can always login with my father's email to check the application status
4. The application gets started by filling up the details of the primary applicant i.e. my father. It asks for my mother's detail at the very end when we give the details of marriage/spouse. By doing this will my mother's data automatically get added to the application or should I create a separate application for my mother?. The reason is application did not ask me anywhere to give details of my mother like passport, education, medical history etc. in the same way like my father. If a separate application needs to be created for my mother, can it be under the same account which I already created and used for providing details of my father?. Basically how details of both father and mother can be given with the same portal account/application login.
5. I am planning to go for upfront medical for both of them. Do I have wait for the medical results/upload in the portal before submitting the application?
6. What are the pre-requisites for upfront medical or they can just call the center, go with their passports and get the medical done.
7. A marriage certificate is not available for my parents. I have read the passport with names of spouses will suffice in such cases. Please confirm.
8. I understand we need to mention the property owned by parents in India to show home ties. My parents are alone and it is not possible for them to get a formal property evaluation. Will attaching soft copies of property ownership documents like the registration copy help? I can also mention it in the cover letter.
9. In the Finance section, my parents are required to mention how much money in Canadian dollars they have for their stay in Canada. What will be a comfortable value given that they will stay with me for around 8 months and I will arranging the medical insurance, cost of the to and fro travel and other expenses.
10. For the question "Is someone else giving you money for your stay in Canada?", should i enter Yes or No. I am little confused with this question. My parents have the requisite funds with them however this being a supervisa application, I am required to bear all their expenses in Canada.
Esteemed members, please enlighten. I hope these questions can help other members which are already in the process or about to create a supervisa application.
