I planning to land in Toronto in July and I will stay there for a month then I will return after one or two years. My questions are:

1- For receiving the PR cards I don’t have Canadian address and I don’t have relatives or friends in Canada. What are other ways of receiving the cards while we are out of Canada?

2-Do you advice me to apply for health cards as it will take three months or it is better to wait until I live permanently there.

3-How to buy health insurance for one month from Dubai before I travel?

4-Is it better to apply for SIN cards for my kids, four and three years old?

Hi,

1. U could submit ur address later by post/fax. The BSO@POE will advice u on it while landing.
2. Except in AB & MB ur health insurance will "only" commence AFTER u have resided here for 90-days.
3. Pls read my thread on it, aka "Temp. Medical Insurance".
4. Not required. SIN is only for ppl performing some sort of Fin. Transactions.

Thank you Qorax for your answers. My problem is that I won’t have address in Canada as I will stay for a month. I heard something about renting an office box which will forward mails to you to another address outside Canada at your cost, is this correct?

Another issue of “Goods List”, do we have to include small things like hair cream, sun glasses, every piece of clothes,….etc or just we need to include valuable things?

1. U could check with UPS (they have a street address rather than a PO Box No.). Alternatively, u could forego ur free-shot of the PR cards now, enter Canada later vide a PRTD (costs $50, fetchable from ur local Canadian consulate) and apply afresh for the cards (costs $50).

2. U could just club them together for "Personal Effects".
