Hi,

I just submitted my inland application. I was just wondering:

How would you get confirmation from CIC that they received your documents?
How many days after receipt before it's guaranteed that it won't be returned to me (for reasons like missing documents, signature, photo, etc.)? I used the old forms and I'm just paranoid that they might send it back to me after the 31st and I have to redo everything using the new one.

Thanks!

Did you do tracking to ensure it gets there? CIC generally notifies the sponsor in about a months time. Some get it sooner, some a bit later. If you provided an email address, they should email you. It's hard to say when it would be returned, if it is going to be.

Hi simpsol22,

Yes, I did get a tracking and required signature. Just a little paranoid about what would happen next. ;D

If you provided an email address, CPC Mississauga may (or may not) send you and acknowledgement of receipt (AOR) two or three (or four) weeks after it has been delivered to them. This will have your UCI and other numbers that you need to try to link it in MyCIC. They took 3 weeks to acknowledge mine

Sometimes they don't acknowledge at all and the first you hear is by email with a PDF letter attached telling you 'Sponsor Approved'. Please refer to the spreadsheet it my signature line for how long that is currently taking (anywhere between 3 and 12 weeks). They will also tell you the visa office they are sending it on to in that letter.

As regards when they will reject it if incomplete? Any time up to sponsor approval (and maybe even after that, but it gets increasingly unlikely). Although they say they will reject it for the slightest missing thing, there have been several people who have missed things, not signed them etc and NOT had it rejected (they just come back and ask you to send it in).

PS - is your PA a UK citizen and would you like to contribute to the tracking spreadsheet? Please post you details and updates on this thread to take part.

Hi Hurlabrick,

Thank you for the info. Really helpful and made me less paranoid. I just checked the tracking. It said that it has been delivered. I guess we'll just wait as to what happens next.

I believe we signed everything so I hope it doesn't get returned or they just ask for additional documents if needed. Unfortunately, neither of us is from UK.

Glad it arrived. :)

You can join the INLAND spreadsheet, the link is in my signature below. Just enter your user name and date that your tracking says it arrived on the first tab. Myself or another editor will move it to the proper sheet.

Thanks! Already joined the list.

Do you have any stats on OWP times?

OWPs take around 4 months.

Do you know if police checks and medical later affects the OWP or just the PR itself?

Medical only affects the OWP if you want to work in the medical field, a school or childcare. Besides that, just having the PR app in should land you the OWP. Police checks do not affect it, as they take longer to do than to get the OWP. You do have to have a valid status when you apply for Inland Spousal Sponsorship to get the OWP. Otherwise you have to wait until first stage approval (AIP)

I'm assuming visitor visa is valid status? Thanks for your help :)
Visitor

Visitor visa is a valid status. Although I believe that you have to leave (and come back) or extend your status (if you'll stay for more than 6 months) if you have a multiple entry visa.
