Some queries regarding May intake for Masters (MASc). Pls Answer

Hi Guys,


Had almost prepared my mind to apply for the September 13 intake, but after a bit more detailed searching on departmental websites, got to know that some uni's are offering May intake as well for Masters program.
Uni's of Windsor,Manitoba & Carleton have specified this, but nothing has been mentioned for U of Saskatchewan. Does it offers may intake for international students ?

I'm having all my documents ready and just need to file the application now. So considering if i file it for May, is it quite late now to apply ? But from what i've seen, deadlines are around Jan.1 for the Summer and Spring intake. I guess documents would take a maximum of 10 days to reach their office after i submit my application. Basically what concerned me, can late filing dent my chances of getting admission ?

Here's a recap of my profile:

1.Xth - 84.4%
2.XIIth - 63.4%
3.B.Tech - 65%.1st Division
4.IELTS - 7.5


To summarize my questions :

1.Is U of Saskatchewan having May intake ?
2.Can i file my application now for May intake or is it late ? Will it affect my chances ?
3.Is the May intake with respect to students taking admission, inferior to the Fall or Winter terms ?
4.My chances in the following universities (Final 4) : Saskatchewan, Carleton,Manitoba,Windsor.

MASC is a research based masters .So admission to this program is really tough . U need to convince a supervisor and it has higher academic requirements . According to me 65% marks are not enough to get acceptance . Try MENG ( course based ) instead.
Yes May intake has fewer openings so apply for fall which is the biggest intake.

So i should better skip the May intake and apply only for Fall term. But aren't the universities which i mentioned considered as safe options for MASc admissions ? I really want to pursue MASc instead of M.Engg.

For MASC as it is Research based program following points should be taken into consideration :
1) It is somewhat tough if you do not have projects in large number relevant to the course.
2) A strong SOP is required.
3) They emphasize on International/National Seminar, Number of Paper Published and things like that.
4) Strong LOR.
5) Extra Curricular activities.
6) Work Experience
7) U need to convince a supervisor

I applied in 5 universities for jan 13 namely:
1. Macmaster(MASC) - Rejected
2. Queens uni (MASC) - Rejected
3. UWO (MESC)- decision pending
4. University of Guelph (MSC)- decision pending
5. University of Regina (MENG)- ACCEPTED

U can see that admission to MASC is really tough . If u really want to go for MASC for May intake . I would suggest u to apply in Concordia university as I've seen that few members of this forum have been accepted by Concordia in MASC with same profile as urs.U need to hurry as deadline of concordia for May13 was October 15
