Hello guys,

I am speechless but excited.Speechless because they have requested 3 things at once. Exicited coz we are 1 step to packing our bags. We just got a letter from the Embassy, requesting for our medicals, Passport and right of permanent residence fee.I am sure someone would ask why they ask the 3 at once. this is just to say that the way files are being treated are not the same.

Honestly, unless someone really has a bad condition, i don't think anyone can fail the medicals. From what i saw in the form sent to us ,The findings from the tests they make are categorised in 3 parts. ( blood and Urine tests )

First, conditions that are normal and can be taken care of by yourself or minial doctor's attention.e.g minimal or controlled High blood, Hypertention etc. Some of those words are so technical. i can't even remeber them.

Second, conditions that require periodic visits to the hospital, rheumatic heart deseases,no active TB

Third, conditions that require specialists and constant care or extensive examinations e.g dialyses, constant hospitalisation, psychi probs, some major surgeries ,dementhia illicit drug /alchohol during the last 2yrs symptomatic periferal vascular desease .or symptomatic cerebro- vascular desease etc.and ofcourse HIV and some sexually transmitted deseases.

The list is too long for me to type. So, guys, i wish you good luck. And i hope the above info helps

Thanks

Hi Congratulations. Great job to let others know. Most do not know it is on line.
By the way are you among the new NOC 38 applicants? When did you apply? Best of luck for your future.

Hey, I test TB before and it is positive. Does that mean I cannot pass the medical exam?

What do mean "you are TB positive"? What tests are done? Is it on the basis of X-ray only or tuberculin test? If it is "active" TB, you are not eligible but if X-ray shows old cavity and had been treated in the past, it is OK. You should immediately consult a chest specialist preferable a TB specialist. If it is "active" for god sake take FULL course of treatment immediately.

This was my view about medicals before now but when you run into a DMP that is more interested in impressing CIC, it becomes ugly. The DMP may choose to blow any little thing out of proportion. Our experience was that the DMP said the medical report will not be returned to cic even when the rule states that the DMP does not decide cases.

Your link is not working or is outdated.
here is the new one:

don_c, do you mean that your DMP even refused to send the assessment to CIC?

Yes please. I had to contact CHC before she reluctantly agreed to send the result. Everyone would wonder what the medical issue might be. According to her, my less than 2 month old baby has a swollen navel and we should go see a specialist.Canada does not allow kids with slightly swollen navel and blew that out of proportion.Funny enough, all the doctors we have seen said there is no issue, including the specialist hospital.
