Hi,first I want to share some good news
my husband landed november 2, found an appartment november 9. Found a job november 30. these are the good news for those of you worring about settlement. the application for me and my son have been sent to mississauga.I don't know how to check the status because We did not receive any letter from CIC. How do you check processing at Mississauga?

Wow, that is great news canadalover, may I ask what city in Canada and what line of work? I don't think it would be that easy for everyone, I think the demand for housing and employment situation varies widely...

You use the number on the receipt for your fees to log in on ecas, along with your sponsor's name and birthday, etc. It took ours 2 weeks to show up there, so don't worry if you don't see anything right away. They didn't update our info until the file was already processed and our letter of acceptance had been mailed!

thank you tLH. yes, my husband was very lucky, he landed in montreal and he is a computer programmer with a US bachelor. He had no contac in montreal and told me he did all his search for appartmen and job via internet, found a lot of interviews (mosly call centers), he actually refused a job offer he did not like .and chose a computer programming job, the salary is the same as in his home country and he expects to earn better after a couple of years. Reading about immigants sruggles in canada I expected some 4-6 monhs jobless for my husband in this recession time, this is why I did not accompany him, even though I was declared on his applicaion as non accompanying family member. Now we stared sponsorship
I tried using receit number on ecas and nothing happened, I was a little worry, but reading your reply I undersand it may take longer. My husband is so lucky I told him, he should buy lotto!
