1) Should I (the dependent) send reference letters from my work?
2) How strict is the policy of "don't send any additional documents not found on the checklist? I mean I get it but although I haven't finished my BA yet I am on the last year PLUS I have several certificates and diplomas that do not actually fit under the "full time studies" category but I think it might help. What should I do?
3) We are a family applying for an FBI police clearance. should we send alongside our fingerprints 1 form signed by both of us or two separate forms?
4) Will just one copy of our passport main page do? Are we sure it doesn't need any stamps to be certified or translations?
5) Our marriage certificate is from the State of New York. Should we send them one of the copies they gave us back then, or we can just copy it with a copier machine and send it?
6) Does anyone know if any more photographs are needed other than the 6 for each member that are asked (I remember having read somewhere for more photographs but I can't find it)
7) Do you think there will be any problem if the fee payment is done by a credit card whose holder is not one of us two?
8 ) My wife has only a passport (they use that as a national ID in her country) and here in Greece she has a residency card. Should she provide both of them?

Thanks helpful guys! :D

I am a little undecided on answering your questions again Vangelis. Please ignore my answers if you do not find a link to prove them.

Vangelis21 said:
1) Should I (the dependent) send reference letters from my work?Yes, it adds on positively to the application. The VO may consider the fact that both of you WILL contribute effectively towards Canada's economy....he can make that inference only when he sees your achievements, in addition to you spouse's.
2) How strict is the policy of "don't send any additional documents not found on the checklist? I mean I get it but although I haven't finished my BA yet I am on the last year PLUS I have several certificates and diplomas that do not actually fit under the "full time studies" category but I think it might help. What should I do?NO ONE KNOWS....no data on forum to authenticate the strictness of the policy "Don' send any additional docs...". WE don't know what's going on in VO's head. But you could add the information regarding what you are ding currently, so that VO gets an idea to better assess your application. Sorry, no links here.
3) We are a family applying for an FBI police clearance. should we send alongside our fingerprints 1 form signed by both of us or two separate forms?Already answered ....2 separate forms...it is really not that important...if u send 2 forms they are not going to reject your request :)
4) Will just one copy of our passport main page do? Are we sure it doesn't need any stamps to be certified or translations? All copies of passport are required to be send. If any page has any information that is not in English/French, then you have to get them Certified by a CERTIFIED TRANSLATOR
5) Our marriage certificate is from the State of New York. Should we send them one of the copies they gave us back thenWho gave you back?, or we can just copy it with a copier machine and send it?CHECK the checklist....provide copies or notarised copies unless requested
6) Does anyone know if any more photographs are needed other than the 6 for each member that are asked (I remember having read somewhere for more photographs but I can't find it)Check the checklist of you VO.....it is different for different VO's
7) Do you think there will be any problem if the fee payment is done by a credit card whose holder is not one of us two?No, anyone can pay the fees who is not on the application
8 ) My wife has only a passport (they use that as a national ID in her country) and here in Greece she has a residency card. Should she provide both of them?Yes, the more evidene you provide the better.....sorry again no link to prove :)

Thanks helpful guys! :D

1) excellent, I am just a little concerned because on the checklist it says not to send any documents that are not written on there ...
2) oh, stop it with the "links" joke.
3) just checking, you might see that a lot from me from now on. That is my character. Others double check, I quadruple check! sorry
4) yeah ok but if i am not mistaken all passports have all the info in both languages. it would be ok in that case right?
5) I did that, but "copies" might mean many things. And before I send just a black and white copy I would like to make sure!
6) seriously? there are checklists for each VO? isn't there one checklist in general?
7) I guessed so but we are thinking that they might get suspicious, especially since we will provide them with a bank statement of our money. they might think "why would anyone else pay for their application" ?
8) ok good

Thank you for the very enlightening information. great help, thank you (if I ask again in the future, do not be insulted, I tend to do that out of uncertainty and trying to be sure about things, it is not about you ;) I trust your answers!

2 more questions!

A) Do we need to certify any copies of documents that are in English? for example BA and Master's degrees, certificates, etc? sorry that I am asking again even though it is slightly different. If the checklist says "copies" do they mean even simple copies without being certified?

Let me be a little clearer because we are anxious about some specific documents.

- My wife's Master's (as my diplomas too) is in English (only English). At home we have only 1 (the original one). What should we do with it? Send the original? Send just a copy, or for some reason certify a copy and send it?

- My wife's passport has the information in both English and Armenian (one page English, the page below in Armenian). What should we send exactly?

PS: Sorry for asking so many things but you understand. We wouldn't like to make a mistake.

thank you

If the English version is there , no need to translate

About the diploma's my problem is where can we certify them. We live in Greece but a) my diplomas are from Greece but American and british universities, my wife has one degree from Armenia and one from the USA. no idea how to make certified copies :(

About the passports, yes the ENglish is there but I was afraid that they might see a full page in Armenian and they will not know if it is the same translated in the next page or not :( ALso, ok no need to translate, but should we certify the copies?

Do not send the original.
Send Certified Copies of your and your wife's diplomas and certificates.

Now we send only copies of our passports first 2 pages. (these where certified copies too)

attention you will need to send also copies of your wife's diplomas in a sealed envelope with the seal of the university.

The Sealed Envelope with the copies of the diploma and transcript was mentioned in the VO instruction (Bucharest) Maybe it does not apply to your VO.

About the passports I will not be able to answer you because probably you have one Greek and one Armenian. Again as far as I know you only need to send non-translated certified copies. (I did so) I think that the people that will analyze the file at CIO do know how a Greek passport looks like :)

The issue with the passports is that we can easily get them certified but the certifying letters, stamp etc are in Greek!

Can you link me to where i can find different VO instructions? that is the second time i hear that today but i had no idea that each VO has different needs! it will help us greatly man
