Good it worked out for you but giving attitude to immigration when you are not a citizen or even a PR is never a good idea. They can make your life difficult and getting bounced can have serious consequences if there is say an exclusion order in place.

Hello,
Another question guys.
Still trying to complete my Citizenship Application and gather the necessary documents. Please kindly help me the answer to question in number 6 subsection C of the application form,
It says;
C. Are you a citizen of any other countries?
D. Do you have permanent resident status in any other country. (If yes, list the country(ies) and provide the
dates you acquired this status)

If my answer to #C & D above are both yes, as I was born in Nigeria and still hold her International Passport as a Citizen.
Will the date I acquired the status be my date of birth in Nigeria? Please help I am confused.
Secondly, What documents will I submit as my proof of my work history? Offer letters of employment? Pay slips, ROE or T4(Tax documents)?
Please do not fail to include any other information you think may be important to me,
Thanks for your help as usual
Regards,

When is your current passport expiring?

Better if you submit the details of your new passport to avoid any potential misfortunes. Since the laws are changing super fast, you never know what could add to your predicament. Usually this kind of 'Offence' is not a big deal, nonetheless, it all depends on your case worker, who can make big out of it. Apply for your new passport and send the details of new ones.

Hello Nomi2012,
Sorry to ask if your reply above is the answer to my question about number 6 C & D of the Citizenship application?
However, my Passport expires 21st Dec, 2015. But I am unable to connect your replied answer to my last question. I'll appreciate if you could throw more light to your answer. Thanks for helping as usual.

Pleas Help - Citizenship Application

Hello Guys,
I my work/education history, should I include my part time work as well?
Because from 2011 to 2013, I was working in 2 places. One full time and the other part time (Weekend)
At the same time I started a part time program at University of Alberta.
The dates seems to overlap with each other. In situations like this, how do I arrange it. Which one comes first? I know is the most current. But it appears to me that the days are conflicting here.
Secondly, still in number 6. 'F' of the citizenship application, a part of it says: You must indicate the reason for being unemployed and confirm the dates of your unemployment under "Work/Education" and indicate the time period. Can some one help me with different between confirming the dates of your unemployment and indicate the time period. It appears to be repetitive from my understanding. (English is my second language).
My unemployment dates has appeared on the "From" and "To" column. So should I again write it (dates) under "Work/Education column? Please throw more light on: "and indicate the time period".
Thirdly, will my 2006 Secondary School Certificate outside Canada be accepted as my proof of English language? Though currently I am still in the University.
Finally, I am still working with my current company.
Is it ok to write from 12-7-2013 to DATE?
And will my professional training certificates in Canada be accepted as proof of English language?
What supporting documents should I include for my work history? Should I include Pay slips, T4, Employment offer letters? Application will be completed ones I receive answers to the above questions.
Thanks a million times for helping.
Regards,
Wisdom7.

You are only a citizen of Nigeria, not a permanent resident. permanent residents are like green card holders. So yes to C & no to D
work history - NOA, T4 and letter of employment stating when you joined, how many hours you work and your salary along with a business card of your boss will help.

You should include all employments, full time and part time. it doesn't matter if it overlapped with education. they dont have to be mutually exclusive. for education, submit all your transcripts in the last 4 years (even incomplete ones) and a copy of the enrollment letter from the college/university. put everything chronologically.

the unemployment part is kind of a repeat. write the dates of unemployment (if you weren't studying as well) and in a separate sheet of paper, explain why you didn't have a job.

only a completed degree or diploma from a canadian institution will work as language proof. other wise you can apply for a third party test as mentioned in the form

Hello Chakrab,

If the applicant's nature of work is "Investment" such as "Rental property/Holding share with a Corporation" what should be under Work/education and Employer section in 6.F? I am not clear about self-employed term would be appropriate or not?
Self-employed means you have to have a business which is registered with City with HST etc. (Ref. to CRA website). CRA has option to declare income under Investment/Rental Income etc..

I am not sure if the correct word would be such as: "Work as an Investor" under Work/Education and then put little details on activity such as" Manage rental property under employer? What do you think?

Hello Chakrab,
Thanks for taking the time to supply me with answers to my question. I really appreciate.
However, in the instruction guild document, they said below:

A diploma or transcripts from a secondary or post-secondary school indicating the successful completion of a program, in Canada or abroad. or
A diploma or certificate from a secondary or post-secondary school indicating successful graduation, in Canada or abroad.

In your reply, you said that only Diploma/Degree Certificates from any Canadian Educational Institutions are accepted. Please kindly throw more light to: In Canada or abroad.
Thanks

The document must clearly show that the program was completed with English or French as the language of instruction. If the original document is not in English or French then you must also include a letter in English or French from the institution indicating that the language of instruction was in English or French along with a translation of the original document.

does the document show that you were taught in english? it's easier when the institution is a canadian one. unless you are from a native english speaking country, i would advice you get a proof that the mode of education was in english

Yes, I am from Nigeria. And Nigeria is an English speaking Country colonized by Britain. Our Education from birth to even University is English. In fact, most of Nigerian twenty first century children, have English as their first language, cos even their parents cannot speak their local language fluently.
The certificates are all in English.
Therefore, from your last reply, I will think that they will accept secondary school certificate in English from abroad. Correct?
Thanks
