Hi,

I have sent the Solemn declaration through fax yesterday on 22-Feb-2017. As per CIC agent, PR card was mailed to me on 9th Jan and it has been more than 6 weeks, I have not received the card yet.
Will keep updating my card's status on this post.
did you call them after sending in solemn declaration?

besides have you thought another possibility that it might have actually been your original card firstly issued to you after all?
CIC usually waits for 6 weeks before taking request for new cards, reason being the card can be returned to CIC or may be one just gets hold of the card. So they do give the time to search for the card or wait for it to be returned.
When I called CIC after 6 weeks, they were not having my card(returned) and hence a request was placed for a new card.
My case, I can say a new card was printed.

Hi everyone. Thought I would share my story. PR card was sent to my place of residence when I first applied for status. I had moved since then. Totally ridiculous even though I indicated the new address on my forms. Sent the solemn declaration form exactly 6 weeks after never receiving it which was March 15. Received it today April 18 2018.
was the same card?or a new one

My story:

Landed: 10-Aug-2018
PR Card Approved: 29-Sep-2018 (I came to know of this after linking my PR card application with my CIC account)
Solemn Declaration: 07-November-2018 (Faxed it from outside of Canada. Wasn't sure when the six weeks wait period is meant to start, so technically today is six weeks from PR card approval)

I didn't receive an acknowledgement by email or on my CIC account. Is this standard practice or do I need to follow up by phone?

Hi @rockytg

I am in a same situation.

On October 23rd I called CIC and got to know that my PR card was returned back to them.

SO I asked them to mail the acard again to my lawyer's address.
Do you think it will be a problem? do they mail the PR cards to the authorized lawyers on file?

Its already 5 weeks and i have not received the card yet :(

I have to go back home on December 28 and I already have the tickets.

My case I had given my aunt's address. The new card was printed and delivered well before 5 weeks. Going by that you should have got the card by now. Best would be to call CIC and ask them for status of card.

If you are out of Canada for long(28 December you are leaving for home) , you can get a PR travel document made in your home country. PRTD would allow you to enter Canada. Once in Canada you can collect the card from your lawyer(if it was finally delivered) or get a new one made. For PRTD option , am assuming you would be in your home country for somentime. I got PRTD document in 2 weeks. It takes anywhere from 1 week to two months to get PRTD depending upon the country it is applied from.

There would be no acknowledgement. The best would be to call CIC. I have had issues with updating of address and my card being sent to the wrong address.

Thank you for your detailed reply!

I’ve been calling them every week but they keep saying we have to wait because it takes up to 50 days. Looks like they go by the processing time of an initial PR card. But in my case the card is ready, is just a matter of mailing it again.

How long time ago did you update and receive your card before 5 weeks? Was it recently?

Last year in November. New card was delivered in nearly three weeks after my sending of solemn declaration.
