No, NOC doesn't have any bearing on CRS scores.

can i put some experience under 2283 and some experience under 2173 ?
Yes, you are to put all your work experience since the age of 18, or the past 10 years, whichever is most recent. That includes 2283 and 2173; the NOC does not matter.

I currently work as an LQA tester and the NOC code on my visa says 2283. Same applies to all testers of the FQA department.

Hello Friends, I have some concerns about NOC code and IELTS score's:
Could you please let me know if NOC code matters in Express Entry system because EE is a points based system. What if LMO /Work permit is under 2171 and Job responsibilities performed are under 2283, Under the New system should we specify the NOC code. Secondly. How can an applicant claim Work experience relevant to the duties performed under CEC category. I understood that CEC category requires Min of 1 year experience or 1560 hours of full time hours. but will the change in NOC code really matter / effect PR.

Lastly, It would also be great if you guy's can help me understand the IELTS eligibility as well. Wherein, NOC A expects CLB-7. But NOC B requires CLB-5, as Express entry is points based system should an applicant need to satisfy CLB level in all 4 modules, If any of the module is less than required CLB, as per my knowledge he/she will obtain 'O' points. therefore, will that be good enough to minus the points and consider the obtained score. for future draws.
Please provide me your experience and response.

Thanks to all in advance !

Hello,

I am working as a Test Lead (Software Testing) with around 8 Years of Experience in India. I am creating profile for express entry under Canada FSWP but i am confused between following NOC Codes:
2173 - Software engineers and designers and 2283 - Information systems testing technicians

According to my role and designation, NOC Code 2173 is applicable but according to job responsibilities, NOC Code 2283 is applicable.

I have seen similar post regarding same confusion. So what you finally applied and is result positive?

Thanks.

Hello,

Would you pls help me on this regard?

I applied for Quebec Aug-2016 intake under NOC-2173.
I put my NOC “2173 - Software engineers and designers” when I submitted my application. But later on, I came to know that NOC “2283 - Information systems testing technicians” is more appropriate with my job responsibility.

Q1: Can I change my NOC when application is available to modify?
Q2: Will Quebec ask me question If I change my NOC later?

Bachelor: Computer Science & Engineering (CSE)
Job experience: Test Engineer, Test lead and Deputy Test Manager
Total Exp: 10 years in Software testing

Arup,

I am on same boat, But I have added 2283 instead of 2173.
I am also worried as well as confused in between 2283 and 2173.
2173 hold more value and points.
But 2283 have all job duties similar to us.
Somewhere I have read that if you have degree then you must go for 2173 instead of 2283, but confusion is still there. Please confirm the same.

Give me your number I will add you in our Quebec group.

Hi Guys!!

I understand this is an old post.
But I am still not sure about the NOC for manual testing.

I have 4 years if experience in Manual Testing.

1. Does the deaignation matter or the roles against NOC?

2. Y axis told me (2171)
I also came across 2173 n 2283.

Which NOC code is appropriate.
Please reply as it is highly critical to decide right NOC code out of these.
