Softlanding in Canada during December - impact check

Hello,
I am SINP EE candidate and my husband is a dependent applicant, both with ecopr. The application got through in a time line where we couldn't move right away. So, we are planning to do a softlanding, we have friends there who can receive our PR and get it to us. I am not sure if landing there by dec 16 to Dec 24 time frame will have any impact that concerns our use case.
1. We are looking only to apply for the pr card by post to a friend address in canada
2. Get SIN
And return back.

1. Is this better time to get this done ie Christmas holidays impact if any.
2. For this is one week enough as we have to use our vacation and do this very critical about the no of days in Canada.
3. Instead of applying for PR is it better to apply for pr travel document

I presume you mean you have a paper COPR and not an eCOPR (which is only done inside Canada and one is already a PR).

1. Apart from airports being a bit busier, possibly, no relevance.
2. Basically should be fine.
3. You 'apply for PR card' at the airport during the landing procedure. Only thing you would need to do really is apply for a SIN (can be done at airport when offices open, Service Canada when not).
