We soft landed for a week bsck in 2018 then life and covid 19 and we are going to Canada soon. First landing the custom officer didnt stamp our list and said we need more details and specifications for the items on the list and we can just bring it back second time we are in the country. So now what? Should we make a list and what details they typically require? Jewllery..furniture..and cash? Kindly help

Yes, list every item along with its value and serial number/other identifying details. And make sure you're returning before 2021.

my parents became PR on 21st sept in canada itself and 3rd october they had to leave to India for emergency purpose. so they dont have PR card (They have COPR)to return back to canada but their Multiple entry is still valid untill march....can they still travel back on that visa

As they are now PRs they need either a PR card or a PRTD given it is likely their TRV has already or will be cancelled. Add to that the current restrictions and challenges for anyone travelling on a TRV even if were still possible Given their PR status. Alternatively if they have a US visa they could present themselves with their COPRS at the land border.

thanks for your reply.....as it was avirtual soft landing the old visa hasnt been cancelled ....in a usual ladning process they cross out the visa which is not the case....thats why I am skeptical whther they can still travel on that visa...as applying PRTD in india is taling longer process more than couple of months

Well decision to try is yours and your parents given just because not physically crossed out does not necessarily mean it is still valid in the system. Also maybe check the current COVId travel restrictions for TRV holders who need authority to travel that may have greater scrutiny at the checkin desk with a direct CBSA check to authorise checkin.

FYI - the visa doesn't have to be crossed out to be canceled. It's a mistake to assume the visa is still valid just because no one crossed it out. Based on experiences here, the visa will be automatically canceled in the system after your parents landed. Anyway, your call what you do. But be prepared that your parents may be denied boarding without a PRTD or PR card.

My Dad recently came in august.....and during immigration in delhi he hwas asked how come he is travelling he explained showed are docmets that I am his son and at the time he only had travel visa he wasnt PR and no questions were asked at canadian immigration when he came .....and if the visa are not crossed I still understand it can be cancelled at the back end but n the COPR letter or a seprate letter which they it should have mesntioned that all old travel document related to canada demmed as cancelles or something like that therefor i think its still valid
