Greetings to all seniors in the group.

I have got my CoPR in November as you can see my timeline. I have few questions.

First of all thanks to this forum & its senior/start/champion member for your help, without which this feat wouldn't have been possible.

Myself & my wife are a bit skeptical about soft landing. We have some business back here in our country(India) but we don't want to delay our travel either. If we plan on soft landing , we have our close friend whose address we can give when we arrive at the airport for PR card delivery. Now having said that, my questions are as follows:

1.How many days of stay is generally advisable before we come back?
2.How will IRCC send photo request? by physical mail or email?
3.Can our friends send our photos on our behalf or can we scan and upload our photos?(basically tell me how the photo request and response process works please)
4.I am fully aware that only a PRTD will let me inside Canada back, in that case should I be applying it for my spouse and kid independently or with the same application?

Many thanks in advance for who ever going to respond.

1. As long or as short as you want. (from 24 hours to however long you want)
2. email. Take extra passport photos in Canada and leave them with the close friend you're staying with.
3. yes
4. all at once.

Hi Rajesh,

I am yet to receive my CoPR but I am planning for soft landing and would be going back in a months time. Can you please help me understand the process of PRTD. It would really help, as I would like to avoid any mistakes which would delay my trip back to canada.

You can apply for a PRTD only if you are Canadian PR (that is you have done your landing), are not carrying your PR card and out of Canada. You cannot apply for a PRTD while you are in Canada.

For on how to apply for a PRTD : https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...lying-permanent-resident-travel-document.html

Hi dotslash,

Thank you for your message, I should have given more clarity on dates.

As per the CIC website my processing time was projected to be July 14th but I added my new born post submission, so I did expect some delay.

My medical expires in December'19, so I assume whenever they give me the PPR I will have land before my medical expires. Having said that I will probably going for a week and my return would be sometime in February. I was curious about PRTD, as I assume my PR card wont be ready by then. I will be travelling alone in February and my family will follow after a few months, by then I should have everyone's PR cards.

If you have some additional opinion on this, please do share.

In that case, when you go back to Canada in February, you will need a PRTD because you won't be eligible for a TRV anymore.

Hey tobs,
Hope you are doing fine
Now my CopR came with a photo that has no information written on the back.
I submitted 2 photos one with and one without information. They returned the CopR with the photo that has no information. Thats fine right because i remeber them mentioning that PR card photo is the same as one in CoPR and that it has to have the information

Your feedback is appreciated also on my above query

not sure what the question is but its normal for CIC to retain the photo with the info for their records and return the other one with the COPR

just to add a clarification here, if you complete the landing alone only your PR Card would be sent for processing. so until your family does not set foot in canada, their PR cards would not be processed

It was the other way around for me, they took the photo with no info on the copr and the one with info was returned back to me

Hi everyone,

So at the end we just have one picture attached to the COPR right?

I also wanted to find out what information was needed for the backup passport sized pictures. I notice the photo attached to the COPR is not passport sized. Could someone please let me know?
