Hi
I am residing in UAE and hold Indian passport. My COPR was issued on 18 March 2020. As per the latest rules will I be eligible to enter Canada for soft landing ? Thanks in advance.

To meet the travel restriction exemptions, you must also be coming to Canada to settle permanently (you cannot come to Canada and leave to go live in another country, even if it’s temporary).

You can come to Canada and become a permanent resident now if you plan to stay and settle here. If you’re planning on coming temporarily and leaving again, you can’t do that right now unless you meet a different travel exemption.

Take note of the part that says, you are not supposed to come to do a soft landing right now.

Hi Payal,

I am in a similar situation. I reside in Bangalore, India. I have been issued a COPR and a visa (valid till 24th Jan 2021). I am planning to fly to Toronto in the first week of October. I plan to stay at least for two months. But, my preference is to do a soft landing as I need to wrap things up in India. And moreover, I am not sure which airlines is taking in passengers travelling from India to Toronto, having valid visa (not Canadian passport holders or PR)!
