Hi, so the officer lady told me about 8 to 10 weeks. However they sent me the card within 4 weeks.
Thanks for the information. But if you stayed for week and a half, how did you manage to get the card to yourself ? As i have heard one cannot courier the card overseas. I am too planning for a short stay, so need to understand on ways to receive PR card.

I used my boyfriend's address. He lives in Canada. So they sent it there. The immigration don't really care whose address it is as long as it's a residence. Not airbnb or hotel.

quite recently, processing times for the card have dropped drastically. most people get it in 10 to 15 days now.

Thanks. Yes, I too initially checked the processing time of PR Card on CIC website, and found it to be 12 days. But as I saw this post of Apr '19 mentioning it as 8-10 weeks, so thought it could vary from province to province. Thanks for the clarification.

Thank you very much. This is quite useful post for us as we will be landing late September 2019. We are three in number, my spouse (principal applicant and one dependent child.) Are we expected to declare goods accompanying and goods to follow individually or collectively?
Thanks

Thanks for the info. In case we want to have a short landing la (one week) and our PR cards will get mailed later to our relative's address in Canada, will we be allowed to travel back without the actual PR cards at hand?

Yes, you can leave Canada without PR cards in hand, but you need it when you come back in. So plan it accordingly.

For first soft/hard landing, you need im category Visa alongside copr
For subsequent visits, you need pr (by itself) or prtd (r category Visa)
Pr takes 12 days, but check processing times. Also many folks tend to get their photos rejected which adds more time.
Prtd takes a month, but check processing times to ensure your travel plans are feasible. They do consider your travel plan to expedite processing but it is not guaranteed.

Is it 12 calendar or working days?

When we apply for the SIN upon landing, what address should we provide in case we don't have a permanent address yet? We'll be doing a soft landing, and staying in an airbnb. For our PR cards, we'll be giving our friend's address..
