Hey All

I have a couple of questions to ask and i hope i can get answer from you. This December i am going to Canada just for holiday and to make things easier for when i apply for residency (hopefully i ll start my application next July) i would like to open a bank account and get a Social Insurance Number. Am i allowed to do that as a tourist?

Please let me know as this is important!

NO, it is not allowed. They only Holiday work visa,Work permit visa, Permanent resident visa, Student visa and Family visa. However, going there could give you some points should you decide to apply for the permanent resident visa. I hope this helps.
Good luck!

Yes, you can open a bank account, but you can't get a SIN as a visitor.
