Hello I will be sponsoring my partner soon but I am pregnant and will be on maternity leave and receiving child assistance/benefits once the baby is born. Does this disqualify me from being a sponsor, or is it just for people on welfare?

Thanks!

From what I've learned: If you are receiving maternity leave payment from work or government, you still qualify. If you receive child care benefits, you still qualify. But I believe you will have to provide details as to how you will support your partner once they become a PR.
