So stressed. Taking the test soon. Any recommendations?

If I fail the test I feel like I’m not gonna be able to hear from them for like a year. I’m so stressed. Read the book twice and doing the practise tests and stuff. Getting a laptop just because of this. Any laptop with webcam would work right for both the test and the ceremony? Also some info from Discover Canada is not updated like the population of Canada etc. Still we will only consider the official book right? Rarely all of a sudden my wifi disconnects because of a general connection issue. Happens so rarely, because of the service provider. I’m hoping it won’t disconnect during the test. In case, I am planning to use my phone’s mobile data as a hotspot to be able to continue the test. What do you guys think? Also damn it’s insane that there are so many names in the book like all the ppl in art section for example, or the dates, just so many dates. I’m hoping the test is basic and not crazy complicated.. Don't stress out too much. The test isn't really "that" hard. For me, most of the questions were simple and straightforward. A couple of tricky questions, that's about it. I started the process of taking my test at 00:01 on June 28th. My photo and ID submission took around 7 minutes. So, I started the actual test at around 00:08 and the test was done by 00:15. Pretty simple.

Read the Discover Canada book thoroughly, at least once. This includes studying all the information in the boxes with pictures.

In addition to Discover Canada, prepare using the following:

Notes from Discover Canada and Sample tests.

You can use the hotspot from your mobile for the test, I did that too, just in case the Wi-fi gets spotty.

Just read the book and you don't have to remember each and every thing. You'll have some memory of what you've read and you can easily answer the questions as they are mostly multiple choice questions. I had a LOT of true or false questions and just 1 fill in the blanks question.

The test was pretty okay - the difficulty, at least for my test, was moderate but it really isn't as hard as people imagine it to be.

Don’t worry pls see the link that’s been shared here . I too was same worried and all but u know what I passed 20/20 . Just remember to calm down take id/ pic on right place submit start the test . Read questions very carefully and answers I did in 5 min so don’t worry read the links here practice . U should be good . All the very best !

I did the online quiz 30 mins before I took the actual test and it was fine. Pretty easy test. No need to stress out.

But my PR card, I just checked, doesn’t have a signature:/ my driving license has signature though. What do you think I should do? Which one to use? Thank you!

Both can be used. People have used both, no issues. If you have driver license then use it, if not use PR card.

Driver's License, Health Card, PR Card - All these documents can be used without issues.

Just go with PR card i would suggest, As it was an approved document, it is Valid and No issues for them to approve if the Photo taken was clear before the test.

We used PR card and My family friend her PR card expired, she used the expired card as they mentioned can use (Only expired PR or Valid PR, i am not sure about other documents)

Aout the test, the test is very simple:

First Realx and Calm
you will have all the questions on screen that you read
Most of the questions around 10 + at least can answer with a General Idea / Common sense (few names and Dates in case if your questions has that info, you need to have little knowldege about them)
Most of the True or false read again (Mostly answers are True)
Most of the All of the above (Mostly all of the above is correct)
Best way is if you are not sure Mark is review after , so that you can review again before submission.
however you do you will have time to review at the end unless you are sitting on a question that you doubt or don't know exact answer. Keep moving to the next question if you don't know the answer (mark it review after), finish all questions, then click on the Numbers on Rogh hand side like a Dial Pad. Review from question 1 to Last after you finish the Orange tabs (Those are the questions you marked to review again)
there are exact samples and how it looks on the scrren available on CIC website.

Your test invite lists PR card and people have used it and had any issues, not sure why you need more than one confirmation.
DL: Just go with your DL's expiry date - who knows how other provinces issue DL for how many years.

  • your permanent resident card (even if it’s expired), or
  • a valid (not expired) ID with your photo and signature on it (for example, driver’s licence or health card)

On the website it clearly says that

• your permanent resident card (even if it’s expired) , I don't understand why you want to drop yourself in to the questionable situation, where i have seen people saying My province ID don't have sign, My health card don't have Picture, Lol, IRCC itself flexed to accept their OWN issued PR card even if it is expired, and i Did mentioned my Family friend used it (EXPIRED CARD) and Mywife & Myself used Valid card and Passed the test and results updated to COMPLETED. If someone do not have a PR card (Lost, Damaged) can think of other piece of ID. you can go with your PR card. Please do not push the things while you are in STRESS. Just take it easy and go with PR CARD.

I am tooooo Perfectionist so i took many pictures until i see every litter clear and visible including every border (required second Link due to it's 15 minutes expiry), My wife goes with easy STRESS FREE LIfe, she Just clicked in 1 shot and submitted, LOL Result same both accepted and both completed, so Please have a trial to prevent stress before the exam (I am Mentioning this becuase you said For exam Purpose you are buying a LAPTOP, so check how it is working and al). Good Luck.

When I saw the questions I felt a bit mad at myself haha because it was waaaaaaaay easier than I expected. Im a Calgary applicant(2020 March), how long does it take for an officer to approve the test result officially, and how long does it take between test to oath? I may be moving to another address but I don’t wanna make things complicated. Can I change my address right before the citizenship certificate step? I just don’t have the luxury to wait for one more year you know..

Maybe I will not comment on How long does it take from Test to oath for your visa office cause it's not going to be typically same for all applications. But be Positive you are almost there. few weeks or months everything will be fine.

Address change in my Opinion good to update as soon as you move- because online oath candidates will get the certificate by post.
