My Canadian spouse is sponsoring me and we have sent my pack to missisagua (sic). I tracked via ecas and our sponsorship was approved and the pack got sent to London, I today received a 'decision made' email. I logged on but it doesn't tell me what the decision is. I have to wait to be contacted by the london office. I guess this will be by mail but it will be delivered to my parents house (my mailing address). I know it might only be a matter of days before i know but my nerves are making me feel sick.

Does anybody know if calling the London office on the 08:00 to 11.00 line will help? Or am i missing something on the ecas tracker?

Is this a good sign or a bad sign, or just normal?

I have had so much help sending my pack off on this forum before so thanks in advance

Chris

This is totally normal. Infact, I just got a decision made update today as well. In almost all the cases if you haven't heard anything from the chc up until that point, it is almost certainly an approval and you should receive your passport with the visa in mail. Hang in there and congrats.

Thanks but I have my passport here, I was under the impression that I received the decision and then my passport would be requested, did I do something wrong?

They won't request your passport through eCAS. They will send you either an email or a letter requesting it.
In some VO's, they would give you a call.

Should it say 'passport request or similar' before 'decision made' in this case, does this mean it's a no...

No it will only ever say decision made. You will recieve a letter that will give you the decision and if positive they will request your passport to London and send it back with the visa. You're at the end of the road. Be patient and positive I'm sure everything is perfect!

Thanks so much, of course I can wait, but do you think they will tell me over the phone in the morning...? Thanks

No hurt in trying!

How long did it take for you to get to this point? Im sponsoring my spouse and we are still waiting. Havent heard anything yet.

Our application was in London for about 5 weeks before I got approved last Friday, I got an email for my PPR and I think this is how they tend to contact most people. I wouldn't recommend calling the London office as the automated system will send you round in circles.

You can contact them online via a web form but they will not reply to anything that is outside the accepted processing time of 6 months unless you have a problem with your application.

Hold tight mate, I am sure you will get the email/letter you have been waiting for really soon :)

Our Ecas said 'Decision Made until a couple weeks after landing - so don't worry about it - it will never give you the details.

Everybody is right - "Decision Made" means just that . . . they have finished the assessment and made a decision about whether or not you are eligible for permanent status. Not to make you more nervous, but it says that whether it's a refusal or an approval. Unless there were some "issues" with your application, though, you shouldn't have any reason to expect anything other than an approval. If they didn't believe you had a genuine relationship, they'd have contacted you for an interview. The only other thing that really factors in with the refusal of a spousal application is a criminal record. Barring that, you should expect an approval and the passport request, by mail, within a couple of weeks.

My understanding is that they cannot refuse you without an interview (unless your application simply did not satisfy the conditions for applying at all). But if they have some doubt as to the genuine nature of your relationship, they will ask for an interview. So if you get "Decision Made" without any prior correspondence, you are good to go !
