I would like to ask, does one need to leave the terminal at Frankfurt to change planes ? Is transit visa required ? Luggage to be collected personally at Frankfurt ? What is the weight allowed from Amritsar on Qatar, does Air Canada allow the same from Frankfurt ?

I don't like to speak badly about our airline, but don't take the attitude on Air Canada personally. I've only had one experience with AC that was delightful and that time I wrote AC to commend the cabin steward. Once here, check out WestJet. They train their staff to interact with passengers in a way that makes the whole trip fun and relaxed.

I had been a frequent flyer with AC - even before its merger with Canadian Airlines. Basically not bad but always have room to improve (such as cabin hostess and steward take the initiative to help passenger especially women to put their hand luggage in the overhead compartment). Now I switch to Cathay Pacific because more excess baggage allowance than AC, more flights, easy to book and advance seat selection in the CX website.

Dear there is no need to leave the terminal and no transit visa requred and each passenger can carry 2 bags of 23 kg each plus 7 kg cabin bag in qatar and AC and they themselves transfer the luggage at frankfurt
