Small wedding

Hi,

We are applying for inland sponsorship and wondering how important are wedding pictures for the application?
We had a tiny wedding at city hall (in Canada), but we have tons of pictures from the past two years of us dating, spending time with each other's families, and going on trips together.
If we send only a couple of wedding pics, and many "normal" pics, will that be enough?

of course. many people have small civil ceremonies. you don't need to overwhelm the application with wedding pictures. send enough to prove it actually happened, and other people were around.

don't get concerned with how many pictures are needed. pick a couple from each important event, as well as any from trips/visits, and you're good to go. it's good to also make sure there are pictures with other people present.

Thanks so much for your answer! I saw elsewhere on this forum that people send testimonies from friends and family. How important are these testimonies? It's not a problem to get them, but I assume they would need to be notarized, and most of the people that know us are in the US, which will make the whole preparation process much more complicated.

i assume it is dependant on the visa office? i did not send any, as they were not required documents for the application. i didn't even know that was an option when i submitted my paperwork.

That's possible. I don't see them as an option either. We're submitting inside Canada.

where is the applicant from? depending on your answer, it may not be advisable to apply inland at the moment. there is a severe delay in processing...

IF the applicant is from USA or some other visa-exempt country, submitting inland would be a big mistake. You would wait over 11 months just for stage 1 approval and open work permit, all while not being advised to leave Canada.

With an outland app it could be completely finished in around 8-10 months with full PR status, and can come and go from Canada as you wish.

Unfortunately for us outland will take longer.

Another question for the experts:
On the Spouse/Common Law Questionnaire, question 11, we have to indicate whether the sponsor has sponsored anyone in the past.
I sponsored two parents in the past, but there is room only for one person on the form.
Should we include an additional page with the other person's data? This is indicated anyway on the sponsor evaluation form, so do we need to repeat this information on the spouse questionnaire?

Thank you!
