Hi Everyone,

Me and my wife are planning to move to Canada via the Express Entry(EE) Program. We both are Post Graduates in Computer Application from India.

I am planning to get the ECA done beforehand i.e. even before giving our IELTS for the primary reason of moving things in parallel rather in linear fashion. I am sure there is no hassle in this as ECA is a mutually exclusive process that can be done anytime before an application is filled in EE. In case it is please let me know.

Now let us come to the problem. There is a slight issue with my wife's graduation documents. Her actual name is XXX YYY but in the degree and mark sheets it is prefixed with Ku. XXX YYY where Ku. stands for Kumari. It is a salutation for a teenager in India. On other documents incl. Birth Certificate, [EDIT, BEGIN]: Passport before marriage etc it is XXX YYY.

1. Will this be a problem if I send these documents to WES? Will they accept them?
2. What should I fill in the field on the WES application for Grad. Credential? Ku. XXX YYY or XXX YYY as mentioned in other documents.
[EDIT, END]

A prompt reply would be really helpful.

Thanks in advance!

BR,
Puneet

You should be ok. And you can apply for ECA anytime. All the best
Thanks Mabroor for a quick reply. However, somehow I submitted my query incomplete and have completed/edited it now. It would be great if you could share your opinion again. Sorry for any inconvenience.

I would recommend to fill her first name and last name in wes as that's the standard name on all other crucial documents (passport). Since ku.. Is just a prefix there will be no issues. At worst case there will be line on wes report saying name on credentials was ku. XXX YYY and name on profile was XXX YYY. Which doesn't hurt anything. Atleast CIC agents are that smart to figure it out.

Thanks a lot Mabroor. I am sure there would not be any problem. Though, It would be great to have more opinions, and of people or someone who has faced this situation before. Its just about taking more than one opinion, just like having one from a Doctor.
