Dear members,
It's 3.27 AM here in Toronto and I'm sleepless :( but quite content :) from my "no incidents" landing experience. In short, arrived, stood in a Q, met IO who checked our declaration cards, were directed to immigration center in YYZ Airport, stood in a Q again, called to the booth, asked "any problems with the police?" I giggled and said Nooo and I was made a PR, signed a form, called family to sign forms as well, and we're welcomed to Canada by the nice IO. Were given a load of pamphlets about what needs to be done & welcomed, directed into another booth and given extra pamphlets & welcomed again with a nice Happy Holidays wish! After that we headed to the luggage area to collect our luggage (paid 2 $ and got 2 trolleys for the price of 1). Took my luggage to the GTD area to stamp my GTF list and declare my POF money that I was carrying with me (in cash). Guy was friendly enough but quite slow, but life goes on! we finished and off we went out of the customs area. All in all, it took us 1 hr 45 mins. I and my 5 yrs old son are in my furnished condo now, sleepless in YYZ! but content because all was OK. Later on today will do SIN, open a bank account, bla bla bla! By the by, it's 0 degrees Celsius and fabulously cold! long live the freezing weather because I've seen enough heat in my lifetime to last me 3 life times!

Thank you all for your good wishes, I really appreciate it. The sleeplessness side has not eased up completely, but managed to do the sin, tried applying for OHIP but were told that I need to open a bank account and settle in first, than I can apply for that. Yes, I took cash with me, it's quite safe you just have to be careful a bit, that's all. And thanks kg but I don't know what do you mean by paid DD for RPRF?? if you explain further I may be able to answer you. All the bast falks!
