Hi there
i also have another question, Over 3 years ago another nephew of mine applied as a family (him and his wife) from Mauritius to come and settle in canada. After they submitted their application with the fee, they received a mail advising them that their application was received and that they will be notified if futher info is required.
THey have since waited and they have received no rejection letter nothing from immigration. THey inquired on their status a few times and they were told they are still working on their file.

Is 3 years not a long time?
Should they consider reapplying or try another province?
Please advise.

Thank you kindly.

They applied pre-June-2010 and so will be processed on a low priority. Regrettably such processing for pre-June-2010 seems more luck-based than anything, some applicants have now been processed, others are waiting, without much rhyme or reason as to the order.

With the recent changes to the rules CIC are accepting a vastly reduced FSW1 intake each year, which should eventually mean the backlog is cleared. But all this will take time.

If they are eligible to apply under the new rules in July 2012 it may be worth doing if they can afford it, since this may well be faster than waiting for their current application to come into fruition.

Hi,
I am new immigrant and will be comming soon to Canada, i have the below questions & i need advice:

1) We are a family of three (husband, wife & child), would CAD 2500 be enough to survive, the most important for me is to stay in a good neibourhood with near metro exit in Toronto.
2) If my salary is between CAD 1800 - 2000 is there any Tax i have to pay or no Tax for low income such as this.
3) I am ready to take any survival job, but how long i have to live on my savings till i find one, would it take more than 6 month to find survival job. & how to look for survival jobs please advice.

Thanks,
