I have Myself applied under 4131 and 4141 and have more than 4 years experience. i am master in political science + B.Ed. But same like yours wife my profession is different than the One i was doing in Pakistan, and i am presently Living in sharjah too. Yes she can apply under 4131 as long as she has a continuous ONE year experience as a college lecturer in last 10 years. The Title of your wife depends on the the Title of experience certificate she must have now.

Mr vijey. Follow the Link below and see the detail. I personally think It simply doesn't matter If you mention a College teacher OR College lecturer. the basic Point for CIC is the Type Of institution one teaches there, so your wife is a college teacher or college whatever you may claim, but you know she has taught in COLLEGE and that is the point. I myself mentioned a college lecturer in 4131 and then secondary school Teacher in 4141 Code.

Good Luck.

She can apply. Job title doesn't matter that much, its the job duties she performs. Kindly compare them with the NOC on HRSDC website and draft them in your own words. You will have to validate it with documentary proof from the employer regarding duties.

best of luck

Hi All,

I am on the same boat.....I am going to apply under NOC-4131 and my job title was College Lecturer but it hardly matters because Lectutrer & Teachers are no different and carry the same responsibilities & duties.

Duties are more important than job titles so you will be fine.

Good luck Vijay.

@ Rocky272727 - By the way, how can I write my job duties as a College Lecturer in the intial application to be sent to CIO - NS?

Do I need to send any documentary proof from my employer mentioning all duties I performed at College?

Please advise.

Guys,

I was once a secondary teacher for 6 yrs. Hence, NOC 4141.

later that time, I became a college instructor for the next 3 yrs. Hence, NOC 4131.

can I claim max of 21 points here? I think, 4141 is not in the 38. But if dig up further, it's actually under NOC 4131 as stated below:

4131 College and Other Vocational InstructorsThis unit group includes instructors who teach applied arts, academic, technical and vocational subjects to students at community colleges, CEGEPs, agricultural colleges, technical and vocational institutes, language schools and other college level schools. This unit group also includes trainers who are employed by private training establishments, companies, community agencies and governments to deliver internal training or development courses. College teachers who are heads of departments are included in this group. Click here for a list of Example Titles of this occupation.

Applicants with experience in the following occupations may also be considered under this NOC depending on the specifics of the main duties performed:

Instructors teaching non-academic or non-vocational courses (in 4216 Other Instructors)

Secondary School Teachers (4141)

University Professors (4121)

Simply for our kids!
