Skilled worker wanting to migrate with partner

Hi I have a few questions about migrating to Canada.
Myself and my boyfriend have been thinking about moving to Canada (Nova Scotia) but we are both struggling to know where to start with the applications.
I am a registered nurse in the UK. My boyfriend works full time for the NHS in the UK and would also be working full time in Canada.

Which route should we take to start the application process? I understand that I may be eligible for express entry, but would we be able to do a joint application?

Also, from start to finish how long should we expect the full migration process to take?

You can only file a joint application if you are married or common law (have lived together continuously for at least one full year and can prove it).
