Skilled worker immigrant landing pregnant needing pub. Health insurace

Hello, i'm a pharmacist who've just got a visa to canada as a skilled worker. I'm also 3 months pregnan. That is why i'm willing to travel to canada ( toronto) on the first of september ( while being 6 months preg).
I'm asking:
Is it legal to apply for public health insurance with the fact that i'm already pregnant?
And is there a chance that my request would be denayed?
If not, how long will it takes after applying to get the insurance?
And during that period, are there realy free health services provided by community centers that i can make use of??
Please help me with you kind advices and helpful information cause i'm realy lost here :'(

It is legal but there is a 3 months wait so the odds of you having the baby before you get coverage are about 50/50. If you have the baby before you get coverage, you must pay for the delivery. It could cost you a few thousand $.

If you are a PR immigrant, they would not deny your application for health insurance but there are no exceptions from the 3 month wait.

During the waiting period, I believe there may be free clinics you could make use of.

Another option would be to avoid Toronto and settle in another province which offers first day coverage for new immigrants. Keep in mind that you should stay there for at least 6 months in your first year after you land because that is the eligibility requirement to have health insurance. If you go to some province, get a health card, get your delivery paid for and then leave again, they could bill you for what they paid for you because they can say if you don't stay for 6 months, you were not eligible.

I am coming to Montreal (Quebec) with my wife on Work Permit this month. She is already 3 months pregnant. If we apply for our (myself & wife) health Insurance card, does this waiting period of 3 months is applicable to my wife. Can she still get coverage of medical consultancy etc.. during initial 3 months?

Also @Leon, What are my options to involve some medical consultant (doctor/midwife etc..) immediately after registering with RAMQ. I meant that these things may take time in figuring out. Can you please help me with what best options do i have for me wife's routine check-up and ultimate child birth?

i did medical insurance for my wife 3 days ago ,shes is here as a open work permit and i asked people there about pregnancy exception and they told me everything is covered without waiting 3 months, even they will give you letter indicate that she will covered by all expenses.
