Hi

I am here in Canada on a study permit (I came on 30 th Dec 2008) and now I have got my post graduate work permit.

I have a job offer in hand from Second cup for Store Manager.

Now as per the new rule from CIC,

I can qualify if i fall into the occupation list of 38 occupations --- which I dont

I am here as a foreign national working or studyin here since one year -- which I have not -- I have just completed 9 months.

N I m thinking of giving on arranged employment - I have a job offer from Second cup as a Store Manager which falls under the NOC of 0,A,B.

Does my employer need to go for AEO or would a simple job offer suffice.I guess an AEO is only for people who apply from countries outside Canada.Since I am in Canada I guess an emplyement offer would suffice.....Please correct me if I m wrong.

Awaiting your opinion on this.

Ravs - give people at least 24 hours to reply.

Can you clarify - are you still a student with a student work permit, or seriously, you graduated in 6-9 months, and have a post-graduation work permit?

Do you have any prior work experience in a managerial occupation? (Or any O, A or B occupation code?)

Sorry Jes

Well My current status is that I am on Post graudate work permit ..I finished a 8 months course and got a post graudate work permit for a Year.

Now well I have some experience in NOC O,A & B when I was working back in India.

But here I dont have any experience except 8 months experience doing an on campus job of tutor.

I just wanted to know ,I have an employment offer from Second cup which is a permanent full time position.

Can i apply for FSW PR aplication.

Hi Ravs,

I think it looks good for you. Assuming you have at least 1 year of continuous full-time experience back in India (in O, A, or B class), and you have enough points etc., you can apply under the FSW Cat 2 (Arranged Employment). You didn't say if you were currently working for Second Cup, but your offer of permanent employment should come from your current employer, and you need a letter from them stating that you will be hired indefinitely if you get permanent residence.

I say - go for it. Anyone else?

Hi Jes

Thanks for your prompt response.

Well I am not currently working for them but I have an employment offer from them which I am about to join any moment.

Jes,Points is not a problem i guess i qualify.

As fas as the JSW CAT2 is concerned ,wat if I give these arrange employment offer along with other docs to CIO and then suppose If I qualify ...

But I am already thinking of getting some another job bcos I dont exacctly love the position..what would the scenario be.

if u legally reside in Canada as an International Student ,as in ur case 8 month courses in Equivalent to 1 year degree usually, have u done ur diploma?,

and secondly u will not need to fall under 38 occupation list ,u just need to show that u have job offer which comes under type A.B or 0

I would go ahead and submit to CIO... you'll get your response in about 2 months. But if you submit that permanent job offer, that job offer (and your work permit) still have to be valid down the road at the time you get your PR Visa (assuming your application goes thru and you get approved). So, the sooner you apply, the better...

I guess you have two options - suck it up for a year or so and take the job while you apply for your PR - you can change jobs after you get it. Or, roll the dice and keep looking while you still have your work permit.

You have another option - Category 3 - once you have been here for a full year (not sure - don't think it matters if it's a combination of school + work for the year, as long as you're here legally. In any case you got a 1 year postgrad visa for an 8 month course, it probably counts as "1 year" of school). Unlike Cat 2, though, you will have to show Proof of Funds... That way, you're not tied to the job...

I might add that most people on this list might think you're crazy if you don't take the "sure thing" (well, as sure as anything can be). But only you know what is better for you...
