Im a newbie here. Im confused whether I belong to skilled level A or B. Because I just read one topic that if your a graduate in University youre Skilled Worker A. And if youre a college graduate, youre a Skilled worker B. I am graduate of Business Administration Major in Management. But unfortunately due to some circumstances. I fall on the job in Purchasing. I've been doing the purchase for almost 6-1/2 years now. 2-1/2 in the UAE and 4 years in the Philippines.

In the NOC code, the nearest to my job description which I am doing right now is 1225.

Can I still be qualified as Skilled A or B eventhough I dont belong to these 38 jobs which are listed in the Skilled Worker?

pls help!

If your Job is not in 38 occupations you do not qualify. 1225 is not in 38 occupations

To have more information on category 0, A or B please read
http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2006/FAQ.aspx

What are NOC Skill Types and Skill Levels?

The first digit of the NOC code identifies the Skill Type of an occupation.
•1 corresponds to Skill Level A
•2 or 3 correspond to Skill Level B
•4 or 5 correspond to Skill Level C
•6 corresponds to Skill Level D
Skill Level A represents occupations usually requiring university education. Skill Level B refers to occupations usually requiring college education or apprenticeship training.

I have to agree here as we first applied under 0111 and as 'Director of Operations' was not on the 38 our first application got thrown out.... look and the 38 Noc's though and see if your skill set fits into any of the jobs on the list..

good luck, Livx

You have to look for your job profile in NOC code first. But all jobs in NOC codes do not Qualify you for FSW-1

After you find you job in NOC code check it it falls in the list of 38 occupations listed here
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who-instructions.asp#list

If it is there then use the eligibility tool and self assesment test at the following link

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who.asp

I am sorry but the job code that you mentioned is not in list of 38 occupations

Alternate way for you can be to find a job before hand in Canada
