Hello,

I'm wondering if anyone happens to know whether work experience gained while waiting for PGWP can be counted towards Express Entry.
To paint a better picture, I graduated in January 2022. I applied for my PGWP the same month. My study permit was still valid, expiring in December 2022. My PGWP arrived in February 2023. I have been working full time in a skilled-level position ever since I applied for my work permit (January 2022). Can I count with this work experience for Express Entry?

Any information is much appreciated!

Thank you.

Your timeline doesn't make sense...how is your study permit valid longer than your program?

Also I was in a similar situation and I got my pgwp in April(I applied in December) not sure why it took you one whole year to get a pgwp.

Lastly, yes work experience gained while waiting for pgwp counts towards express entry.

Hey, sorry the timeline doesn’t make sense to you! My program was a 120-credit degree which if you took summer breaks, was meant to be completed in 4 years. I did not take breaks and finished it in 3 years, hence the graduation much sooner before my study permit expired. Thanks for responding!
