Hey guys,

I'm sitting my IELTS test on 6th december do you think I'll have enough time to apply for FSW before DEC 31?? :o (providing i have everything else in hand of course)

Thanks

It's definitely possible. You can see your score online in 11 days if I remember correctly. Than add 1-2 weeks for handling and mailing time of the score sheet. It's gonna be REALLY close.

December 6 is your exam date
December 20 you should get the result,(max 14 days)
December 23~24 you should get your score card.(min 3 days required)
December 25 holiday no courier facility.
December 26 if you post then I think there are some chances.
But I don’t recommend if you are doing all these after December 15, almost all are on vacation from mid of December
My best advice is go for Express entry
wish you all the best

Thanks man!

I may just do that but the only thing I'm scared of is if 1. The NOC occupations for FSW change as the new express system comes in to play and 2. that the PER in my NOC category will run out?

What do you think?

Maybe apply for both?

Hi there,

Could any one tell me if my wife gets 6 in each category of her IELTS then how many points I can claim. I know that 5 points can be claimed in "Adaptability" but I also saw on the website that "Spouse/partner's official language (CLB4) IELTS 4.0/4.5/3.5/4.0" and 5 points per ability. What does it mean. Can I claim 20 points more because of her language skill ability or not?

Thanks indeed!!

No - you won't get 20 points for your wife's language skills. The most you can get is 5 points.

Thanks for your reply. Do you know any thing or criteria for the new system "Express Entry" that will be launched in January 2015. Will it be more flexible or not. Actually I need 13 points to get 67. Though I got 6 in my IELTS but unfortunately in writing I got 5.5. Next available date for IELTS is 6 December which is very near and I am extremely busy now a days that is why I intend to apply in new system. Do any one know about the new system.

The criteria and requirements have not been mentioned - but it's very unlikely that language requirements will change

Books, online practice tests

There aren't specific materials that's the "best" - the key thing is having enough practices and understanding the questioning styles.

Don't be worry about the last date, concentrate on your test. If you get good band, then possibly you may apply in FSW intake or else you would have chance in Express Entry. But now just think about your test.
