hi Guys,

my sisters visitor visa was rejected mentioning financial status and purpose of travel reasons. in this application i had asked for a 2 week visa for my sister / niece
one of the mistakes made was not submitting everything as per new delhi visa specifications, since this checklist was not appearing in online application i completely missed this by mistake so inviters financial documents, consent letter from her husband for the kid to travel with her , marrige certificate, previous travel history (she has travelled to europe) were not provided.
my sister works in india and is also parallely pursuing her PGP through great lakes. her financial savings are on the lower side though about 2.5K, not sure if we should provide a support letter from husband or ask husband to transfer funds to her accocunt to strengthen savings.

i am now reapplying with all of the above missing documents from the first application and making the family visit reasons more specific, i am highlighting that mom will be undergoing cataract surgery in January 2020 and we need 3 week support for the post op care, we were originally supposed to have this surgery in november but had to postpone as sister did not get the visa. Doctors letter is also being attached.
we are also mentioning that i am working full time, my wife is part time and studying plus we have a small kid so it will be difficult for her to manage the post op care for the first 3 weeks which is more intensive.

what do you guys think about this, should i include anything else to explain further or include any other details.

thanks,

Indian passports lists the name of spouse, so no need of marriage certificate.
You should have already attached her husband's bank savings in first attempt, big mistake.
As it's a visitor's visa, saying that your sister is arriving to take care of your mother after surgery is big NO, technically it is seen as doing work on visitors visa by visa officers. It will result in immediate refusal.

Just say its a family visit, spending quality time with each other. Her husband is not accompanying her and your niece so that's reason for her to go back to India, it shows strong ties.

Do not complicate this easy process, clear precise well documented application will result in approval.

Did you included detailed travel itinerary? Tentative dates, places she wants to visit etc.

Cataract post op care is pretty minimal. It isn’t like a huge surgery where people are bedridden for weeks. Given your sisters financial situation it will be very difficult to be approved. There is a strong likelihood that she will never be approved. You should try to find a plan B. The husband may need to take a few days off or work from home. As previously mentioned, cataract surgery patients need rest but are not really that sick. She will also have some appointments.

hi Canuck78, thanks for your feedback.

one question, what about highlighting the meeting part, my mom has lot of ailments like osteporosis, asthma, high BP etc, she cannot travel alone anymore and does not go to her home country often, my sister would like to pay her visit for meeting her / spending time with her.

You already submitting at least one application mentioning care after surgery and the visa officers will look back at the previous applications. If she applies after a significant period of time has gone by that would be a good reason to visit but her finances will still be an issue.

thanks canuck78!

for the finance part, do you think money transfer from her husband to her to increase the savings would help?

Would also help her case if her child remained at home.
thank you canuck78 for this suggestion, this totally makes sense. Although my niece was looking forward to the trip but i guess now that visa officers have rejected our first application i think it makes sense to exclude my niece from this application since this will create strong proof for the visa officers that the applicant will go back due to kid dependency.

hi canuck78, one question in the proof of means of financial support - is it okay if only inviters financial details are mentioned since inviter is anyways sponsoring all the cost for the travel. so can we skip the mention of applicants financial info?

i am asking this based on this link below:
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/temporary-residents/visitors/proof-funds-financial-support.html
NO, do you think visa officer will be satisfied about your sister's 'ECONOMIC PROSPECTS' in her home country if your sister's trip is not paid by her or her husband?

You cannot sponsor someone financially unless they are retired pensioner or really old, all you can do is send a letter of invitation.

Sponsor's financial documents are required just to prove stability and status in Canada. In your letter, you can write that you will be providing her lodging, accommodation and car etc but your sister still has to support herself.
