Hello,

I and my husband are permanent residents of Canada. I want to invite my sister (26 years old un married) over for a few weeks just for fun and spend time with her before she gets married.

I have a couple of questions:
- Should I apply for her for Tourist Visa or Temporary Resident Visa?
- Do I need invitation letter for tourist visa? Do I need to get invitation letter notarized?
- Do I need to show funds (mine and spouse's combined?) What is the limit? I cant find the information anywhere?
- How many funds does she have to show? Currently we were planning $24000 (CAD) for the whole trip
- She is a government employee back home. Parents are also there. - Are these ties enough to show? What else would you suggest?
- Should she have any itinerary for her travel in application ? If yes, why would we book tickets before getting visa.

Looking forward to your replies.

- Kuma

She must provide more financial and economic information. She is young and less likely to return. She must prove that she has decent job, pay, money is bank account, assets, marital and family ties. Possibly if she is married, it would return the complication.
